The $90,000 tournament in Gdynia, Poland has been brought to an end with HEROIC defeating Kinguin 2-1 in the grand final (16-9 Train, 3-16 Mirage, 16-7 Nuke).
The first map of the grand final took place on Train, the map pick of Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas's squad. HEROIC won the CT pistol and reset the Terrorists twice in the early stages on to set themselves up for a great start to the game, 7-2. Jacek "MINISE" Jeziak finding the opening on Daniel "mertz" Mertz in round 13 got Kinguin another gun round, but they still only managed to finish with four for the half.
Mikołaj "mouz" Karolewski's double entry helped Kinguin win the second pistol and the Polish side managed to close down the gap to 11-8 on the defensive side. That is when Asger "AcilioN" Larsen won a round for his side on an eco, allowing HEROIC to close out the map shortly, 16-9.
The early game on Mirage was all about Kinguin who started furiously, 5-1, with mouz having 10 kills at that point. HEROIC were 8-1 down when they found themselves in a 3v3 A site retake, but were unable to pull it off as Karol "rallen" Rodowicz flanked them through CT Spawn. However, the Danish-Swedish squad found success in the followup, with just pistols, to add their second round to the board.
Kinguin still finished the half with a massive lead, 12-3, and then Paweł "reatz" Jańczak added to it by nailing three headshots on the A site defense in the pistol. With that, the Poles had no issues closing out the map, 16-3, and forcing the decider map Nuke.
On the last map, Kinguin won the T pistol but HEROIC instantly replied, stacking Ramp and eliminating their opposition with a strong crossfire. The Poles managed to win a force buy themselves soon, but HEROIC managed to preserve their economy and bounce back, taking an 8-2 lead. Before the end of the half, Kinguin mustered a couple of rounds with limited buys to finish the half with just a three-round deficit (9-6).
After the switch, HEROIC put themselves into the position to win the match by grabbing the pistol, the followups, and an early gun round (14-7). After that furious start to the second half, Kinguin couldn't contain AcilioN and co., and ended up losing the map after winning just one CT round, 16-7.
