ESL introduced changes to the ESL Pro League Asia playoffs, and will now give a chance to Indian teams to qualify for the Pro League Finals in Odense, Denmark.
The addition of India comes after different investments and projects focusing on CS:GO popped up in the country, with OpTic India being the team to carry the flag forward. The team recently beat Beyond and put up a fight against MVP PK in the Toyota Bangkok SEA Qualifier, while also dominating in the national ESL league.
Alongside the inclusion of an Indian team—which will be the winner of the ESL India Premiership Fall Finals—, the Asia playoffs have been expanded with another Chinese team. Now, the Asia playoffs will feature four teams—two from China, one from SEA, one from India—, and a single elimination BO3 bracket. Only the best team will book a spot in at the ESL Pro League S8 Global LAN Finals in Odense, Denmark in December.
The competition in the ANZ region has remained unchanged, and will still feature eight teams battling for one Pro League spot through a double-elimination bracket.
